What is Utopia Automotive?
A joint venture covering vehicle supply and aftermarket customisation on a single order.
Utopia Automotive is a joint venture between Sion Jones Commercials and Utopia Tints Ltd, a vehicle customisation workshop based in Durham. We supply the vehicles and arrange the finance. They do the wrapping, body kits, paint protection, ceramic coatings and bespoke build work.
The idea is simple: you get the vehicle and the customisation on one conversation, one timeline, and one final handover. You do not have to coordinate a dealership and a body shop separately.

A full aftermarket catalogue handled through Utopia’s Durham workshop. Mix as many services as you want on one build.
Full vehicle wrapping
3M, Avery Dennison and Inozetek vinyls, applied with a standard 12-month warranty on workmanship.
Body kits
Supply and fit of Urban Automotive, R44 Performance and Maxton Design kits for a range of commercial and Land Rover platforms.
Paint Protection Film (PPF)
Transparent urethane film across high-impact panels to protect the paint from stone chips and minor scratches.
Ceramic Pro coatings
Multi-layer ceramic application with up to a 5-year warranty, giving a hydrophobic finish and easier cleaning.
Window and light tinting
Commercial-grade tint films to UK legal limits on the front windows, with darker options on rear and commercial panels.
Defender seat conversions
Seat and trim conversions on Defender 90 and 110 commercial variants, turning a 2-seat van into a 4 or 5-seat utility.
Chrome delete
Factory chrome trim vinyl-wrapped or painted to gloss black or colour match, for a cleaner modern finish.
Detailing and paint correction
Multi-stage machine polish, compound and finishing work to remove swirls and restore paint before a wrap or coating.

How ordering works

Spec the vehicle and the build
We work through the base vehicle, finance option and the customisation scope together. You see the full cost on one quote before anything is ordered.
Factory order and finance
We place the factory order and set up the finance. When the vehicle is ready we route it straight to Utopia Tints in Durham rather than to a main dealer first.
Customisation and delivery
Utopia Tints carry out the work. Once the build is signed off, we deliver the finished vehicle free of charge anywhere in mainland UK.

Utopia Automotive is a shared-margin partnership between Sion Jones Commercials and Utopia Tints Ltd, a vehicle customisation workshop based in Durham. We supply the vehicle, they do the bodywork, and you get both on one order.
Commission and warranty disclosure
We share margin on joint builds. Pricing on customisation comes from Utopia Tints directly and is not inflated. The conversion carries a separate warranty handled by Utopia. The base-vehicle warranty stays with the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions
The questions we get asked most often about Utopia builds.
How long does a wrap take?
A full vehicle wrap typically takes 3 to 5 working days once the vehicle is with Utopia Tints in Durham. Partial wraps and chrome delete are often faster. We build the wrap timeline into the delivery schedule so you get the finished vehicle in one trip.
Is the wrap warrantied?
Yes. Utopia Tints provide a standard 12-month workmanship warranty on full wraps applied with the vinyls we spec. The vinyl manufacturers (3M, Avery Dennison, Inozetek) also carry their own material warranties which Utopia will walk you through at hand-over.
Does customisation affect my manufacturer warranty?
External cosmetic work (wraps, chrome delete, body kits mounted to factory fixings) normally has no effect on the manufacturer warranty on the base vehicle. Work that affects mechanical or structural components is reviewed case by case. We confirm the position in writing before any non-cosmetic work is carried out.
Can I customise a van I already own?
Yes. Customer-supplied vehicles are welcome. Book through us and we will arrange the work directly with Utopia Tints. For finance-funded deals we typically coordinate the work alongside a new vehicle supply, but existing-vehicle jobs are fine as standalone bookings.
Where is the work carried out?
At Utopia Tints' workshop in Durham (DH1 2XJ). We coordinate the vehicle movement between the manufacturer, the Durham workshop, and final delivery to you. You do not need to travel to Durham to collect. Free UK-wide delivery applies to finished vehicles the same as any other new supply.
