Cookie Policy

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website can place on your device when you visit. They are used for a range of purposes, from keeping you signed in to remembering your preferences and measuring how many people use a site. Some modern sites also store small pieces of data in your browser’s local storage, which works similarly but is not technically a cookie. This policy covers both.
Our approach
We keep our use of cookies deliberately minimal. We only set what is needed for the site to work, plus whatever you choose to allow through the cookie banner. We do not use Google Analytics, we do not use Facebook Pixel, and we do not share your browsing data with ad networks.
Strictly necessary
These are always on, because the site would not function without them. They do not track you across other sites.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sjc-cookie-consent-v1 | Local storage | Remembers which cookie categories you have accepted so we do not ask again on every page | 12 months |
| Brevo form tokens | First-party cookie | Set only when you submit a contact or newsletter form, to prevent spam and duplicate submissions | Session |
Analytics
We measure page traffic using Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first tool we host ourselves. Plausible does not set any cookies, does not track you across other sites, and does not store personal data. All numbers are aggregated and anonymous.
Because Plausible is cookieless and does not process personal data, it does not legally require your consent. We list it here for transparency.
Marketing
We currently do not run any advertising, remarketing or social-media pixels on this site. If we add these in future (for example Google Ads remarketing), they will only load for visitors who have allowed the Marketing category in the cookie banner. This policy will be updated with the specific cookies before anything is switched on.
Managing your preferences
You can change your choices at any time. Use the button below or the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every page.
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly-necessary items may stop parts of the site working, for example contact forms.
Changes to this policy
If we add a new tool that sets cookies, we will update this page and the cookie banner before the tool goes live. For a broader view of how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
