Part Exchange Your Van
Trade your current van against a new deal. Honest valuations, fair numbers, and we handle outstanding finance directly with your lender.
How part exchange works
Three steps from the first phone call to the keys in your hand. Valuations usually come back within one to two working days. The full process takes one to two weeks.
1. Tell us about your van
Send us the registration, mileage, service history and a few photos. We can work from a phone call or an email. No forms to fill out.
2. We give you a fair valuation
Usually back within one to two working days. We use trade-guide data and live auction results. The number we quote is the number that comes off the deal.
3. We offset it against your new deal
The valuation reduces the capital on your new agreement or covers the deposit outright. The full process usually takes one to two weeks from first contact to handover.
What we will accept
Any commercial vehicle, any make or model, any age or condition. If it has wheels and a logbook, send us the details.
- Panel vans of any size, small to large
- Pickups including Ranger, Hilux, L200, Amarok, Navara
- Lutons, box vans and curtain-siders
- Tippers and dropsides
- Chassis cabs with or without bodies fitted
- Refrigerated vans and temperature-controlled conversions
- Any make or model, any age
- High-mileage vans, ex-fleet and ex-lease returns
- Vans with cosmetic damage, dents or tired interiors
- Vans with outstanding finance (we settle directly with your lender)
Cars and 4x4s on the side of a commercial deal are fine too. We run them through our trade network rather than keeping them on the forecourt.
How valuations work
We use trade-guide data from CAP and Glass's, plus live auction results from BCA and Manheim. Book value plus real market value, weighed together.
Age and mileage
The two biggest levers. Age sets the baseline, mileage adjusts it up or down from there.
Condition and service history
A full service book with stamped entries adds value. Cosmetic wear is priced in, not held against you.
Market demand
Live auction results tell us what the trade will actually pay this week, not last year. Demand moves fast on certain models.
Manufacturer, spec and body type
Badge, trim level and body shape all move the number. A high-spec Transit sells faster than a base-spec equivalent, and a Luton prices differently to a panel van.
We do not lowball to pad our margin. A fair number is easier to defend, easier for the customer to accept, and gets the deal done faster. We would rather win the next deal than squeeze the last pound out of this one.
Part exchange with outstanding finance
A direct yes, in most cases. Outstanding finance does not block a part exchange, it just adds a step.
We request a settlement figure from your current finance company. This is the figure that clears your existing agreement in full, and it is valid for a set window (usually 7 to 14 days).
Positive equity
Valuation is higher than the settlement. The difference comes off your new deal as a deposit or a capital reduction.
Negative equity
You owe more than the van is worth. We can usually absorb the shortfall into the new agreement, subject to the new lender's approval on affordability and credit.
Either way, we show you the numbers in writing before you commit. No surprises at signing.
Get a valuation on your current van
Send us the registration, mileage and a couple of photos. We will come back with a figure within one to two working days.
No obligation, no pressure. If the number does not work for you, we walk away and there is nothing to sign.
Frequently asked questions
Do you accept vans with outstanding finance?
Yes, in most cases. We request a settlement figure from your current finance company. If the valuation is higher than the settlement, the equity comes off your new deal. If the valuation is lower (negative equity), we can usually absorb the shortfall into the new agreement, subject to the new lender's approval. We will always show you the numbers in writing before you sign anything.
Will you take a van with damage or high mileage?
Yes. High mileage and cosmetic damage are normal in commercial vehicles. We price them in rather than refusing the part exchange. Bodywork dents, interior wear, tired paintwork and worn driver's seats are all expected on a working van. Structural damage or a failed MOT needs a closer look, but rarely kills the deal.
How is my van valued?
We combine trade-guide data from CAP and Glass's with real-time auction results from BCA and Manheim. That gives us both the book value and the actual sale value this week. Factors we weigh in: age, mileage, service history, condition, manufacturer, spec level, body type and current market demand. We do not lowball to pad our margin. A fair number is easier to defend and gets the deal done.
How long does the part exchange process take?
A valuation usually comes back within one to two working days once we have the details and photos. The full process, from first contact to driving away in the new van, is typically one to two weeks. Outstanding finance can add a few days while we get the settlement figure from your lender.
Can I part exchange multiple vehicles?
Yes. Fleet customers often trade in two, three or more vans at the same time against new orders. We value each vehicle individually and combine the totals against the new deal. Useful when you are refreshing an ageing fleet in one go rather than vehicle by vehicle.
